Location
The community is bounded by 50 Street to the west, on the northeast by Mill Creek Ravine, and to the south at 34 Avenue. It is surrounded by the neighbourhoods of Greenview and Hillview to the west, Tawa is to the southwest, and both Weinlos and Bisset to the south, located to the southeast is the community of Silver Berry, Jackson Heights to the northside, and Wild Rose and Kiniski Gardens are located to the northeast.
Demographics
Mincahu’s population of 3,112 living in 1,142 dwellings was recorded in the City of Edmonton’s 2012 municipal census. This was 6.5% lower than its 2009 population of 3,327. With its land area measuring 0.9 km2 (0.35 square miles), it made is population density 3,457.8 people/km2 in 2012.

Collectively, townhouses and low-rise apartment buildings made up of less than five storeys make up around one out of ten of all residences. The remainder are stated to be duplex buildings.
Schooling
The Minchau School is operated by the Edmonton Public School Board and is the only school in the community.
