Satoo is in the Mill Woods area of Edmonton. It is a residential area in the southeast of the city. It is also one of the three neighbourhoods that lies in the Knottwood area of the Mill Woods community.
Bounded by 23 Avenue to the north, Anthony Henday to the south, 91 Street to the west, and finally 80 Street and Mill Woods Road West to the east.
Satoo is named after a Cree chief, Satoo. He was the chief between 1876 and 1891 of the Papachase Reserve that was located in the Mill Woods area.

The City of Edmonton carried out a municipal census in 2012. It stated that Satoo’s population was 3,391 living in 1,265 dwellings, a 2.8% drop from its population of 3,490 people. Taking its 2012 figures, and measuring 1.31 km2 (0.51 square miles), its measured population density was 2,588.5 people/km2.
Satoo is popular with younger families, with approximately three out of the ten residents in the community being aged under 20, It has been stated that people living in the area over the age of the 65 is around one in ten of its residents.
In the 2005 Municipal Census, roughly three out of four homes out of all residential units were single-family dwellings, and the majority of the remainder are mixed between townhouses and duplex builds. Most homes were built in the 1970s in the area. Around four out of every five are owner occupied. The households contain an average of 3.1 persons per dwelling.
There are two schools in Satoo. Both are operated by the Edmonton Public School System and are Dan Knott Junior High School and Satoo Elementary School.
